The Fort Wayne Sport Club was founded in 1927 by an active group of football players who immigrated from Germany to the Fort Wayne area in the aftermath of the First World War. Their immediate focus was “the promotion of football (soccer) and German culture” in the northeast region of Indiana. Today, the Fort Wayne Sport Club is a hub of soccer activity, with programs for recreational and competitive soccer players ages 4 to 60 and over. “We are extremely proud of our long history and our heritage of encouraging participation in soccer at all levels across the region,” said Dan Kruse, President of the Fort Wayne Sport Club. Since 1992, 61 people have been inducted into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame. Seven of those 61 are members of the Fort Wayne Sport Club, the largest number of any club in the state.
