Redrow’s HOMETOWN support outfitted players with Groves Athletics Under 10s for the winter.
The team, based at the Groves Sports and Social Club in Ellesmere Port, secured funding for base layers and beanies.
It was one of 10 good causes to share a £ 10,000 voluntary community fund for the West Cheshire area linked to new homes under construction at The Pastures, Backford Cross and Ledsham Garden Village.
Team coach Stephen Davies said: “I have been involved with the club since my son started playing in the Under-Seven three years ago.
“The young players have improved considerably during this time and had fun while developing their footballing and social skills. We are grateful to Redrow for supporting the team – the caps and underwear will make the training and the much more intense play during the colder months. enjoyable. ”
The players visited The Pastures with their hats on to thank Redrow for the funding.
Redrow Area Sales Manager Chris Edwards said: “We are proud to support grassroots sports. Through our West Cheshire Fund, we have helped football, rugby and netball teams, as well as a gymnastics club.
“It’s great to see so many young people in the region staying fit and active. Having the right equipment is important and we are thrilled to be able to support the junior players at Groves Athletics by providing them with equipment to keep them going. ‘train and play during the winter. ”
Support for the team is in addition to Redrow’s statutory funding related to its new homes.
The Pastures is a 100-unit development which will also see nearly £ 250,000 invested in local education, health facilities and sports grounds in the region.
Ledsham Garden Village is a project of around 2,000 homes set in the middle of 100 acres of open space, with Redrow pledging to invest £ 13million to support the growth of the neighborhood.
