About 48 hockey players returned to the field and resumed limited sporting activities in Andhra Pradesh in accordance with guidelines issued by the Home Office (MHA) amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
These players are mostly above the 18 year old age group and are training for the State Championships which will be a tryout for the Hockey India National Championships.

“We have followed all protocols set out in Hockey India’s SOPs and we ensure that our players have a safe environment to resume training. Only limited training has started for a small group of senior players. and few are junior groups, “said G Harsha Vardhan, general secretary of Hockey Andhra Pradesh.
“We hope that in the coming weeks more players will return to the field because sport always gives a positive outlook on life in general and prepares children for challenges of all kinds,” he added.
