Korea Tourism Board appoints Virtual Human its new ambassador

Korea’s hottest celebrities and sports stars are usually chosen as honorary ambassadors to promote Korean tourism to the world, but this time a virtual human named Lizzie Yeo was appointed as the new honorary ambassador by the Korean Tourism Organization. tourism (KTO).

Virtual humans are three-dimensional computer-generated characters that are designed to behave like humans. There are about 150 of these characters in Korea. They have appeared in various commercials and music videos and are even now named honorary ambassadors.

“She’s 22 and her name is Lizzie Yeo,” the KTO said Wednesday. “She is an influencer and has been presenting Korean culture and tourist attractions online since last December.”

Lizzie will take on the role for a year, after footballer Son Heung-min.

The organization said people can get more Korea travel information through its Tiktok and Instagram accounts.

This isn’t the first time the KTO has used the talents of a virtual human. Last year, he named virtual human Luii an honorary ambassador for his YouTube channel.
