LA Novis Sport Academy will host, for the first time, an awards event for all players signed under the academy.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Golden Horse Casino on December 13 from 6 p.m.

Nomusa Dlamini, who is the founder of the academy, said Echo that with these rewards, they want to show their appreciation to the players and their parents and also encourage their players to always give their best.

Dlamini said she started the academy over a year ago because she wanted to help children get involved in sports.

“I’m a sportswoman, I played sports a lot when I was young and it helped me not to get involved in things like drugs and alcohol. It has always kept me busy. I wanted to give the same to today’s kids, keep them busy with something good instead of always letting them roam the streets, ”she said. Dlamini said his academy caters to children between the ages of 11 and 19.

“We mainly focus on children from the townships, but anyone who wants to join us is welcome.

“It’s my way of giving back to the community that has always supported me when I played sports,” she said. The academy offers football and netball, but Dlamini said next year they will add basketball to their roster.
