The Eritrean Society Organization in Sweden held its annual meeting under the theme “Successful Society for Victorious Eritrean Nationalism”.
During the meeting attended by more than 100 representatives of Eritrean communities from all over Sweden, Mr. Yonas Mana, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Eritrea in the Scandinavian countries, indicating that the “Eritrean Society Organization” played a major role in organizing Eritreans and introducing Eritrean culture to Sweden called for increased efforts to highlight Eritrean nationalism.
Mr. Biniam Misghina, President of the organization, on his part, indicating that the outgoing executive committee has tirelessly and effectively undertaken its task during the COVID-19 pandemic, called on the Eritrean communities to engage in dissemination activities. information aimed at encouraging investment in the homeland.
Calling for prioritizing programs not implemented for various reasons, Mr. Biniam further called on communities to make efforts to transfer Eritrean culture, identity and history to the new generation.
The participants conducted an in-depth discussion on the report presented and elected a new executive committee of 14 members.
Briefings were also provided on the establishment and purpose of the Working Groups and Holiday Coordinating Committee as well as the Scandinavian Sports Festival.
The “Lulea” community from northern Sweden has been named the 2021 Best Eritrean Community in Sweden.
